featuring Echoes amplification
October 27 – November 2
The Crossing's contribution to the charged political atmosphere leading to the General Election. We will release three new short films. Nicholas Cline's "she took his hands" is a moving, minimal blend of heart-break and hope, dealing with immigration. Ayanna Woods, new to The Crossing, brings stylistic skill and versatility to her new work "Shift," which questions the story America tells to itself, about itself. And, Robert Maggio's new "Democracy" centers on FDR's Arsenal of Democracy speech (1940), with the climactic words:
I would ask no one to defend a democracy which in turn
would not defend everyone in the nation against want and privation.
